Sertac photograph from The Butress, Squamish BC

This is a photograph that Sertac took from the Buttress, in Squamish BC. He sent me this photograph and asked me to give him an honest critique...what could I say? I had to tell him the truth...that it was an amazing photograph that rendered the emotion of what we feel when we climb! Thank you for Sharing Sertac, miss you, Anne-Marie

Farewell my friend.

Last time we spoke you where so happy and told me you had something great in the works and would tell me the next time we spoke. Then I never heard from you again. I will miss seeing you on web cam your smile and laughter.

We enjoyed climbing in Nanaimo together. My daughter and I had our first train ride with Sertac.

There will always be a place in my heart for you.

Love Connie

The University of the Fraser Valley is planting a tree in memory of Sertac. It is a Persian Ironwood tree which is native to Iran and Turkey. The tree will be planted tomorrow and a plaque will be erected shortly. Pictures will be added to the Friends of Sertac Olgun group on Facebook.
